FRENCH LIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES

Phillipinnes-Vietnam strategic partnership is timely, helpful and a good start in the regional struggle against Chinese expansionism. Given the divided ASEAN and the critical internal strength that South China Sea neighborood must possess, we can expect the Philippines and Vietnam to wisely, lead this alliance forward with consistent solidarity actions while making serious efforts to include Malaysia and Indonesia to the rank. Alliance with Vietnam is promising as initial stage of cooperation among Asean and hoping to have a chain reaction with other Asean countries. Only with presence of Japan, SKorea, New Zealand and Australia and of course with participation of US can make a deterrent force against Chinese expansionism. As of now two brains planning strategy against China's claim could be productive. The country rose to ranking 59th out of 148 in the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Global Competitiveness Index 2013-2014 from 65th of 144 in the previous report.
