FAUX PRÊTRES ET PERCEPTEURS ... AUX PHILIPPINES !

Image

Doing business in the Philippines remains more difficult compared to over a hundred other countries, with a new report noting that it failed to implement any reforms. The country ranked 138th out of 185 nations in the International Finance Corp. and World Bank's latest "Ease of Doing Business" report compared to 136th out of 183 last year. The Philippines' ranking dropped in seven of the 10 indicators in the report. Its worst performance is in starting a business where it ranked 161st from 158th a year ago. Related story: Poor Pinoy families still have low access to loans, says ADB The number of procedures rose to 16 this year from 15, making it the country with the third most number of procedures, topped only by Venezuela with 17 procedures and Equitorial Guinea, 18. The time it takes for entrepreneurs to register a business also increased to 36 days from the previous 35, the repor

SURFER LA CLOUD 9 ... À SIARGAO ISLAND !

Cloud 9 and Siargao Island. Surigao del Norte is a mosaic island in the northeastern tip of Mindanao. A province that has managed to preserve its natural marvel through the years. Cloud 9 is one of the best surf spots in the world. Located in the Siargao Island, Philippines, this is an incredible wave touched by the Pacific Ocean swell and winds. Surfing in Cloud 9 is a remarkable and stunning experience. The best months to hit the waves occur between September and March. Cloud 9 offers a thick and hollow barreling left/right-hander ride and was discovered by the American photographer John S. Callahan, in the late 80s. In fact the birth of tourism in the island came wit

PEDRO CALUNGSOD ... LA CANONISATION !

Image
PILGRIMS flying to Rome, Italy to witness the canonization of Blessed Pedro Calungsod will have to seek the endorsement of the Cebu archbishop. They’re required to attend catechism classes, said Msgr. Ildebrando Leyson, Blessed Pedro Calungsod Shrine administrator.   He pointed out that the directive may not be strictly implemented but many of those going to Rome in October will be making side trips to other European cities. “The focus of the celebration should be on the spiritual preparation of the people,” said Leyson, who was the postulator of Calungsod during the canonization process. Penitential services “There would be penitential services available to those who would be attending the national thanksgiving mass,” he said. Pope Bene
